Zu Quirke is a British-Irish writer/director. Her short films have played in festivals up and down the UK as well as internationally, including the BAFTA-qualifying Aesthetica Film Festival and London Independent Film Festival.
Zu spent her teen years scrounging for unpaid work on film sets before studying Classics at Oxford University. While still a student, she directed four critically successful, sell-out theatre shows and was featured on numerous 'Ones to Watch' lists. Graduating with a First in 2014, Zu soon moved into film. In November 2016, she won the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Film competition. As of June 2018, she is a BFI NETWORK x BAFTA Crew participant.
